My name is Alexandra Smedzik, and I’m a Registered Social Worker (RSW, MSW) and Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYCP) with over 15 years of experience supporting children, teens, young adults, and families.
I bring a relational, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach to every session. At the heart of my work is the belief that connection and trust are the foundation for meaningful change. I meet each individual where they are, offering a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where children, youth, and caregivers can feel seen, heard, and supported.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in schools, community agencies, and clinical settings, helping young people navigate a wide range of challenges, including:
Anxiety and emotional regulation
Identity and self-esteem
Family transitions and conflict
Mental health concerns
Social and school-related difficulties
My approach is collaborative and client-centered, empowering individuals to set their own goals and move at a pace that feels right for them.
Outside of work, I stay grounded by spending time with my dog, staying active, and exploring what balance looks like in a full and sometimes messy life. I understand the importance of mental health, not just as a professional, but as a human being walking this path, too.
I provide therapy and mental health support for:
Emotional Wellbeing & Self-Regulation
Anxiety, Depression & Mental Health
Neurodiversity (ADHD, Autism, etc.)
Behavioural Challenges

Because You Deserve Support Too
Parenting can feel overwhelming especially when you’re trying to support a child or teen who is struggling emotionally, socially, or behaviorally. You don’t have to do it alone.
I offer 1-on-1 support for parents and caregivers to:
Understand what’s behind your child’s behaviour
Build stronger communication with your child
Support emotional development at home
Create routines, boundaries, and a more balanced family life
Feel more confident and connected as a parent
This is a judgment-free space where you can ask questions, explore strategies, and feel supported in showing up for your child and yourself.
